CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order. Simon, the Greeter, immediately called to adjourn the meeting in order to reconvene at The Buck and Fowl. Although there was considerable enthusiastic support from the floor, there were no seconds from the Council. Motion was dismissed.
ITEM I: HEARING - COMPLAINTS OF NOISE IN THE GREAT HALL
There have been numerous complaints of late involving constant loud noise in the great hall late at night. While the petitioners don’t mind having a pint and a game of darts as much as the next fellow, some of us have jobs to go to and would appreciate a good night’s sleep.
Further investigation revealed that the bulk of the noise can be attributed to a new game popular with the boys, wherein they take bets on how many attempts it will take Thor Donogan to crash through a wall, running at it at full speed.
After several minutes of lecturing and profuse swearing, generally inquiring what the possible intent and outcome such activities would warrant, Cristov banned the game, and any others like it. The Council agreed that this should remedy the noise complaints.
ITEM II: COMPLAINTS OF BANNING ENJOYABLE PRACTICES WITHOUT VOTE
There was considerable consternation attributed to the conclusion related to Item I by those partaking in the activity. Participants claimed that no one got hurt and they fixed the wall afterward, so what harm was there in a little fun. Thor countered that it did hurt quite a lot, actually, and didn’t mind the outcome of the previous decision, preferring to let sleeping dogs lie if no one else minded. Cristov reminded the complainant that the activity was, in fact, disturbing other members of the Keep, whether anyone got hurt or not.
As the complaint centered around there being no vote, the Council voted unanimously to suspend the activity. Although the complainant protested that this was not the kind of vote they meant, Cristov informed him that it was all the vote he was going to get, so he should be quiet or the Council would find an alternative activity to keep him busy.
There being no additional new business, the Council voted to adjourn. The next meeting will convene per the usual monthly schedule, unless a call to order is issued prior.
