Guess what I got yesterday! My author copies arrived on my doorstep while I was at work! Woo hoo! I'm having a hard time coming up with a word to describe how it feels to hold this book in my hand. It's a little surreal. It's hard to connect this neat little volume to the enormous world I've been building in my head for the last 17 years.
This is a photo of my sis holding her copy. She ordered it the very first day it came out and she just received it. And, of course, she had me sign it. She has the very first autographed copy.
You know, the whole experience of autographing is also a weirder experience than I expected. I didn't figure scrawling your name on a page would be that difficult or involved, but I found myself looking at the blank page, totally unsure what to write on it. Do you do your regular signature? How do you make it your own? How do you make it special? Some people don't really care what it looks like, they just want an autographed copy. Others, like your family and friends who are busting with pride for you, do care, and I care enough to want to give them something special. Sigh... there should be an Autographing 101 out there for aspiring authors. This gig is much harder than I ever imagined it would be.
The ebook and paperback are now available and Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and a variety of formats at Mundania.com. If you would like to purchase an autographed paperback copy, please contact me via the contact form.
This last week has been a whirlwind. The Mage Sister was released a week ago on October 7th. I was surprised with a small launch party, organized by my awesome co-workers (see photos below), and I drove everyone crazy posting about it. I think I probably drove my editor a little crazy, too, asking her a million questions and being hyperactive like I am. Sorry about that, Jenny!
Lots of work, lots of answering questions. And now, much of the excitement is over, but not the work. Not complaining, by any means - as much work as it is and as crazy as it drives me, I LOVE IT!
The book is now available on Amazon (Kindle & Trade Paperback), Barnes & Noble (Nook) and Mundania.com. Also, be sure you check it out at Goodreads where you can enter to win a copy! Who wouldn't want a free book?
